I saw one in the flesh this weekend. It was stupid, obnoxious and will likely never be properly subjected to an Italian tune up. And after talking to the owner I get it.

Kinja'd!!!

The owner was a ~90 year old man in a bright yellow mobility scooter covered in tri-colores and prancing horses. He has a collection of 30(!) Ferraris, mostly yellow. This guy is indicative of all the worst parts of Ferrari owners. But... I asked him which was his prettiest Ferrari. He looked conflicted as if I asked him to pick his favorite child. He eventually conceded that this LaFerrari was his favorite but said he really loved the Enzo as well.

So Tacky. So doesn’t matter. For better or worse Ferrari has leapfrogged Lamborghini in outrageousness.

Despite my differing opinion, I saw that this guy wasn’t just collecting them, he enjoyed his cars. Even if it was just pridefully staring at them on a rolling grass field. I wouldn’t spend part of my millions (billions?) on one but I can’t bring myself to hate someone who does.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

What do you mean this isn’t straight? This is an artistic angle.

I found the Problem with the LaFerrari. The doors. This thing is ludicrously narrow with the doors open. And it’d look amazing with some TR3 style half doors. Or maybe no roof, no doors. Send some Jeep engineers to Modena to develop removable doors for a 900+hp hypercar.

Maybe they'll listen if I have 30 Ferraris...

With all due respect to him, and others, you asked him which was his prettiest and he told you either the LaFerrari or the Enzo?!? Does he only have post 2001 Ferraris? I mean they are appealing to the eye, but are far from prettier than some of the classics from decades past.

I can’t hate the La Ferrari but I can hate that color scheme. Yikes!

The thing that I hate most about the LaFerrari is its name.

He did qualify with “the ones I have” the oldest one he mentioned was a 288 GTO.

My first thought too. But it made him happy so *shrug*

They all can't be red on tan.

Maybe he owns McDonalds or something? They don’t have to be red on tan, but my lord yellow on red/yellow is really bad. There’s a reason that most cars have a more neutral interior color.

Fair enough, don’t mean to sound judgemental, it just surprised me that a guy with that many Ferraris would say those two are his prettiest/favorite. Then again, everone has their own tastes.

Gotta respect and commend him on the collection, regardless of what’s in it.
